Hormuz Group operates an investment-intelligence platform offering public research, user accounts, analytical tools, monitoring services, AI-assisted reports, and private business workspaces.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to users.
We do not sell personal information.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect information users provide when they create an account, contact us, subscribe to updates, use our tools, open a Hormuz Desk case, or connect another service.
This may include:
- Name and email address
- Company, role, sector, or location
- Account and profile information
- Messages, form submissions, and support requests
- Business, financial, or operational information entered into our tools
- Saved pages, comparisons, assessments, reports, and watchlists
- Hormuz Desk cases, messages, notes, and uploaded files
- Newsletter and notification preferences
- Other information users choose to provide
2. Accounts and Login
When users create or access a Hormuz account, we may process account identifiers, login records, session information, settings, saved activity, and security information.
Users may be able to sign in using Google or another authentication provider. In that case, we may receive basic information authorized by the user, such as their name, email address, profile image, and account identifier.
Hormuz does not receive or store the user’s Google password.
3. Hormuz Tools and Saved Activity
When users access Hormuz Compare, Business Assessment, Challenge, Watch, Desk, or other interactive services, we may store:
- Submitted inputs
- Generated reports and results
- Saved items and preferences
- Tool usage history
- Dates and times of activity
- Processing status and technical errors
- Model, token, or usage information
We use this information to provide the service, display previous activity, operate usage limits, investigate errors, manage infrastructure costs, and improve reliability.
4. AI-Assisted Processing
Some Hormuz services use artificial intelligence to analyse, summarize, compare, classify, or generate reports from submitted information.
Relevant inputs may be processed by Hormuz systems and third-party AI infrastructure or model providers.
We may retain inputs and generated outputs where needed to:
- Deliver the requested report
- Save it in the user’s account
- Restore previous activity
- Operate service limits
- Investigate errors or misuse
AI-generated outputs may contain errors, estimates, or incomplete information. They are provided for informational and analytical purposes and should not replace independent professional judgment.
Hormuz does not use these tools to make legally binding decisions about users.
5. Hormuz Desk
Hormuz Desk allows users to submit private business requests, project information, messages, and files.
Desk information is not published publicly unless separately authorized by the user. It may be accessed by Hormuz personnel and technical service providers where necessary to manage the case, maintain the service, or respond to the user.
Submitting a Desk case does not by itself create an advisory, fiduciary, legal, agency, investment-management, or confidential professional relationship. Any formal engagement may be governed by separate terms.
6. Hormuz Watch and Telegram
When users connect Hormuz Watch to Telegram, we may receive information such as:
- Telegram user or chat ID
- Username or display name, where available
- Watchlist and notification preferences
- Bot and Mini App interactions
- Account-linking and delivery information
We use this information to connect the correct account, provide requested alerts, maintain preferences, and operate the service.
Telegram independently processes information under its own terms and privacy policy. Disconnecting Telegram from Hormuz does not delete information independently held by Telegram.
7. Technical and Usage Information
When users visit or use Hormuz services, we may automatically collect limited technical information, including:
- IP address
- Browser and device type
- Operating system
- Pages visited
- Referring source
- Approximate location
- Date and time of access
- Session, performance, error, and security information
We use this information to operate and secure the website, understand usage, prevent abuse, and improve performance.
8. Cookies and Analytics
Hormuz may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies for:
- Login and account sessions
- Security
- User preferences
- Website performance
- Analytics
- Error detection
Some cookies are necessary for the website and account features to function.
Optional analytics may be used to understand traffic and improve our services. Where required by law, non-essential cookies are used only after consent.

- Operate Hormuz Desk and Hormuz Watch

We do not use personal information for unrelated purposes without an appropriate reason or notice.

These providers may process limited information required to perform their services.
Depending on the feature used, information may be processed by providers such as Google, Telegram, OpenRouter, AI model providers, hosting providers, and email service providers.
Hormuz does not share private account content, Desk cases, files, or assessments for third-party advertising.
We may also disclose information where required by law, necessary to prevent misuse, or connected to a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or transfer of the business.
11. Public and Third-Party Information
Hormuz may collect and analyse public information about companies, markets, institutions, infrastructure, industries, and professional activities.
Sources may include company websites, public records, exchanges, government sources, research publications, media, and public professional profiles.
Individuals may contact us if they believe published information about them is inaccurate, outdated, or inappropriate.
12. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide and secure our services.
Account data, saved reports, watchlists, and workspace information may be retained while the account or relevant service remains active.
Desk cases, messages, technical logs, and backups may be retained for a reasonable operational period after a case or account is closed.
Some information may be retained longer where required for legal compliance, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, security, or record keeping.
13. User Rights and Account Deletion
Depending on applicable law, users may request:
- Access to their personal information
- Correction of inaccurate information
- Deletion of information or their account
- Restriction of certain processing
- Withdrawal of consent
- Unsubscription from marketing communications
- A copy of information they provided
Users may also remove saved items, stop notifications, disconnect Telegram, or request deletion of reports, files, or Desk information.
Some information may be retained where reasonably required for security, legal, or record-keeping purposes.
We may request reasonable verification before processing certain requests.
14. International Processing
Hormuz and its service providers may process information in countries other than the user’s country of residence.
Where required, we use reasonable contractual, technical, or organizational measures intended to protect information during international processing.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information against unauthorized access, misuse, loss, alteration, or disclosure.
However, no website, database, email system, AI service, or online transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Users are responsible for protecting access to their email, Google account, Telegram account, devices, and active sessions.

Hormuz may link to third-party websites, data sources, companies, institutions, maps, reports, exchanges, and media sources.
We are not responsible for the privacy, security, availability, or content practices of third-party services.
17. Children’s Privacy
Hormuz services are intended for professional, business, research, and investment-intelligence use and are not directed to children.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
18. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as our services, providers, or legal obligations change.
